Pokemon Explore!

This week in Explore we have been learning about Pokemon! We know that sounds like something we wouldn't normally learn about at school, but we thought it was a fun opportunity for us to develop some of our Key Competency skills (such as sharing, taking turns, being creative). We have loved getting creative and inventing new creatures. We have also continued practising our sharing skills and Mrs Hobbs is pretty impressed with how well we have been sharing with each other!

Check out some of what we have been up to this week:

Aurora worked hard to 'catch' the Pokemon with the same letter as her Pokeball

Cameron, Luca W, Tane, Hudson and Jack got very creative coming up with ideas for and then building new Pokemon
Cameron loved using the mobilo to build Pokemon!

Ayla and Nina practised turn taking skills by playing the 'memory' game

Semi used creative thinking skills to add more to his Pokemon to give it even more detail

Mila made a Pokeball and Darcie made a Pikachu puppet. Then they worked together and practised trying to catch Pikachu in Mila's Pokeball!

Charlie thought creatively to come up with a sheep/cheese Pokemon called 'Cheesy'. He even said Cheesy's powers were to pull animals out of the ocean and put them in the right place!

Maia and Ella got creative and made some Pokemon Handbags! They had to think carefully about how to make them with limited resources

Ryan made a Pokemon Museum! He even put a chair in it for a person to make Pokemon for the museum

Ava and Jack had a great time discussing the different Pokemon

Jamie did a puppet show with his Pikachu that he made

Nina created a Pikachu Pokemon card! She worked hard to draw, colour and cut her card
